She was appointed Resident Teacher at Vajrayogini Buddhist Center by Geshe Kelsang in 2000. Gen Varahi brings sharp humor to her teachings on Buddhism and to her examples for applying its principles in daily life. She is remarkable in her love for studying the Dharma and how accessible her teachings are to her students.

Haytham Younis, Guest Speaker (World Religion Series) The God of Abraham Sunday, October 17, 9:00 & 11:00 a.m. Q&A 12:00 p.m.-12:30 p.m. Haytham Younis was born in New York to parents from Syria and raised primarily in Michigan. He discovered Islam at the age of twenty-three in 1981, and began to practice and study it. After working for The Islamic Society of North America from 1983 to 1990, he traveled to Saudi Arabia in 1990. He returned to the United States in 2002 to be involved in interfaith work, prison outreach and a new English language interpretation of the Qur’an. He is a founding member of the Jewish Islamic Dialogue Society (www.JIDS.org) Upcoming projects include a half hour, weekly show about Islamic topics for television as well as the Internet.
