Are you looking for connection, community and spiritual growth?

Join our Fall 2024 offerings of Unity SpiritGroups!

We are inviting you to participate with your friends in the Unity of Gaithersburg’s SpiritGroups program.  Starting the 2nd week of October you can choose from three SpiritGroups.  Each group features six small group meetings, an in-person social gathering and a service project.  SpiritGroups fulfill our core values of Community, Love in Action, Diversity, and Service. Our groups are:

  • Growing Older: “Time to Celebrate Life”  Host:  Kevin Flatt

    • Mondays (starts Oct 7th) 7 - 8:30pm on Zoom

      • Join us in a Bible study group as we reflect on our lives using discussion guides from the Serendipity Bible.  “Others may say I’m over the hill, but I want to feel on top of the world.  How can I look back with gratitude, and look ahead to passing on to someone else what I’ve learned?” Each week we will look at a short Bible passage (longest is 44 verses) and discuss questions meant to bring introspection into our lives.

  • The I of the Storm   Hosts:  Carol Plummer & Gloria Haws

    • Tuesdays (starts Oct 8th)7 - 8:30pm on Zoom

      • Join us for a study of the book, The I of the Storm: Embracing Conflict, Creating Peace by Rev Gary Simmons.  Embracing conflict allows it to teach us what we need to heal and learn. This process leads to peacemaking in ourselves, our relationships and outer circumstances. Come be transformed and deepen the connection to your spiritual self: the “I” in the storm of conflict. • Infinite Connections   Host:  Crystal Rathke

    • Wednesday (starting Oct 9th) 10:30am - Noon on Zoom

      • Join us to connect and learn about the 5 spiritual disciplines of Communion, Connection, Compassion, Community and Challenge.  This curriculum is led by Mindy Audlin, founder of SpiritGroups, and her team who are all amazing.  If you are looking for connection and community this is the group for you.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XK4ObwCGLac

Small group ministry is not a new concept. It has been shown that small group ministries (SpiritGroups) are valuable in creating community, engaging people in deep, lasting spiritual growth, meaningful friendships and by bringing people together in a spirit of love and support.

A Kickoff Informational meeting will be held on Sunday October 6th, 2024, after the Sunday service.

Brochures are available in the church lobby.
